Frequently Asked Questions…

When will you release Inky’s story?

I’m hoping to release Inky’s story in 2020. I have big plans for her!

What are you working on?

I am currently working on Babies & Brownies… the second book in the Starzmann Trilogy of my Sudden Falls series.

What’s with the positivity thing?

There is currently a lot of hate and negativity in this world. For the last few months between the political landscape, the loss of civility both in person and online, I’ve been grappling with a fair amount of despair. And then, for about a week, I posted something uplifting on Facebook every day. The first couple of days because I stumbled upon stuff that moved me. The last few because I was actively looking for positivity.

As it turns out, in looking for positivity, I felt more positive. Less angsty. Putting joy into the universe brought joy back to me.

I have been, for most of my adult life, a “glass is half full” kind of gal. My attitude has occasionally been likened to “Bunnies and beribboned birdies singing Disney songs under rainbow skies.” So it occurred to me… what if I pushed happiness into the world for more than a week, and in a more meaningful way than posting a few memes on Facebook?

And so this new site was born.

Can I tell you my story, have you write it, and then we’ll split the profits?

Sorry. Unless you are really famous, with a strong platform and are in need of a ghost writer, then no. Fiction books based on real life situations are never as readable as the fiction that comes directly from my head.

Will you read my manuscript?

I barely have the time to shower, so as much as I’d love to, I really can’t read anyone’s manuscripts.

If you could do anything for a living, what would you do?

If I weren’t designing websites and writing books for a living, I would open a Bed & Breakfast. (This is a retirement plan for my fellow and me.)

What are your favorite fiction tropes?

  1. Genuinely nice guy, meets genuinely nice girl and they have a genuinely nice romance. (Dear Hallmark: I <3 every movie you’ve ever made.)
  2. Friends to Lovers
  3. Second Chance at Love
  4. Girl finds her power. (really, *ANY* character finds his/her power). You know that scene in SISTER ACT, where the little timid nun starts singing and there’s all this beautiful, powerful, music that comes out of her face?! Makes me bawl like a baby every time.  The end of the live-action JUNGLE BOOK, where Mowgli defeats Khan by doing the “human thing”?! *SOBS*
  5. When the hero(ine) thinks that he/she’s been completely abandoned and then his/her “tribe” steps in with the slow clap. See previous: live action JUNGLE BOOK. In GI JANE, when all of Demi Moore’s fellow soldiers turn their back on the sergeant, as if to say, “She’s one of us, and you no longer are”?! ~throws fist in the air~
